Kailash Manasarovar Yatra Medical Examination

The Ministry of External Affairs (M.E.A) organizes Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (KMY) every year from May to September. A maximum of 960 Yatries (including 16 Liaison officers) can participate in the Yatra, which is undertaken in 16 batches, each led by a Liaison Officer who is appointed by the Ministry.

These Yatris who come from all over India are selected by M.E.A. They have been having their complete Medical Examination at Delhi Heart & Lung Institute since 2004.

The following are the list of investigations conducted:

  • Complete Blood Examination
  • ECG
  • X-ray Chest
  • TMT
  • PFT
  • Stress Echo

The above tests are used to determine the fitness level of the Yatris on the basis of which they are given permission by ITBP to proceed for the Yatra.

At Delhi Heart & Lung Institute, their tests are done in a very cordial atmosphere and in a very systematic manner. The Yatris are well looked after and escorted personally for each & every test.
